I suppose this is quite a Melbourne thing, this obsession with coffee. Many Melbourne baristas strive to acheive perfection in every step they take with their precious beans from roasting them to gridning them just so, using the exact water temperature required to extract all the coffee goodness. For those who take it seriously, it is a science. I’ve been meaning to take a barista course. I’m intrigued… but for the moment I am happy to sit on the sidelines, sipping my flat white while the girls happily slurp their babychinos.
